Los Angeles, CA –December 29, 2008—“Implementing Low-cost Advertising Solutions to Drive Traffic and Watch Sales Grow” was the seminar topic at the fourth installment of El Clasificado’s ongoing “Su Socio de Negocios” small business breakfast series. The small business event held on Tuesday, December 2nd in El Clasificado’s Los Angeles area headquarter facility welcomed dozens of Latino micro business owners eager to find innovative ways to attract new customers and keep their businesses growing even in a difficult economic climate. The event coincided with the National Bureau of Economic Research announcement that the United States has been in a recession since December 2007.

The event’s distinguished speaker was Cristina Barvo, founder of Crest Creative Strategies, an independent marketing consulting firm that helps customers reach their maximum potential by providing consultations on strategic marketing, brand management, marketing communications, corporate image, customer acquisition and retention strategies. Ms Barvo captivated the crowd with a lively, engaging Marketing presentation in Spanish that offered some of today’s most profitable yet significantly affordable marketing tips such as inexpensive advertisement ideas, the value of email marketing campaigns, and grassroots public relations strategies.

Attendees were appreciative of the free service provided by El Clasificado. “This event really helped me understand a lot of current marketing concepts that I wasn’t familiar with,” said Hugo Contreras of Century 21 in South Gate, CA. “With the economy the way it is, I wish small business owners had access to more free events that offer money saving ideas such as this one.”

Coinciding with the December 2nd event, El Clasificado also launched its new “Su Socio de Negocios” weekly e-newsletter for Latino entrepreneurs. The free newsletter offers small business owners money saving tips, ideas, and solutions for improving their day-to-day operations in concise, easy to follow editorials. Now more than 3,500 opted-in Latino micro business owners in Los Angeles receive the new resource for Spanish-speaking entrepreneurs every week.

Small business owners at “Su Socio de Negocios” enjoyed heavy networking, a complimentary breakfast and two interactive presentations in Spanish: “The Top 10 Marketing Ideas for under $100” by Adriana Hernandez of El Clasificado and “Marketing Principles” by Cristina Barvo of Crest Creative Strategies. Sponsors for this event included State Farm Insurance, Time Warner Cable and Aetna. The next “Su Socio de Negocios” Small Business breakfast event will be held on February 11, 2009.
