Los Angeles, CA –February 21, 2006-, Over 300 Latino micro enterprises attended the one-of-a-kind business educational networking event, Su Socio de Negocios on February 8 in Montebello, CA.  Su Socio De Negocios, which means “your partner in business”, is designed to provide valuable insights and tools to small business owners in their own language and at no cost.  This was the first of a four-part series hosted by El Clasificado, the nation’s largest free weekly Spanish publication, to be offered to the greater Los Angeles area in 2006.

Presentations covered such topics as healthcare, telecommunications, payroll services, grassroots marketing and legal structures for small businesses.  Presenters included Blue Cross, Intuit Payroll Services, and Merril and Associates, an Avaya telecommunications provider.  Attendees were enthused with the business presentations in Spanish.

Intuit’s Russell Kibbee was excited to find so many Latino business owners already using QuickBooks. “Our focus on the fast-growing small and medium sized businesses was really appreciated by the attendees”. “Su Socio de Negocios is truly a forum that lends a helping hand to small businesses looking to reach the top but uncertain of how to get there,” said Cecilia Borraez, Owner of Seminars in Spanish.  EVOS Consulting’s CEO Julian Ortiz agreed, “Su Socio de Negocios is a refreshing new entrant in a field that craves for practical and actionable solutions.  Su Socio De Negocios will likely become a ‘must attend’ event series for small businesses throughout the Los Angeles area.”

In addition to providing a micro-business education, Su Socio De Negocios offered an energetic environment with live music, food and raffles that kept attendees motivated and alert.  El Clasificado’s second “Su Socio De Negocios” themed “Using Technology for Small Businesses” will be an even livelier event with interactive workshops to be held Wednesday, June 7th, 2006 at the Glendale Civic Auditorium. More than 400 small business owners are expected to attend.

Reaching over 960,000 Spanish-speaking readers each week, El Clasificado has a weekly-verified circulation of over 230,000 and is distributed to over 140 cities in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino Counties.
